Ohio Atmosphere athletic director Gene Smith stated Wednesday that he’ll resign upcoming summer time.

The 67-year-old Smith, who has spent the life 18 years at Ohio Atmosphere well-known one of the most biggest and maximum a success athletic techniques within the nation, introduced he would step ill in July 2024.

“I have always believed that a leader seeks to be the right person at the right time in the life of the institution,” Smith stated. “I believe that July 2024 is the right time to welcome new leadership to build upon what we have achieved and continue to build upon the great tradition of excellence in athletics and business advancement at Ohio State.”

Smith, a Cleveland local who performed school soccer at Notre Dame, turned into Ohio Atmosphere’s 8th athletic director in April 2005. He had in the past been athletic director at Arizona Atmosphere, Jap Michigan and Iowa Atmosphere.

Ohio Atmosphere groups have received 115 staff Fat Ten titles underneath Smith.
